アラムコ・アジア・ジャパン株式会社（東京都千代田区 代表取締役社長 オマール アル アムーディ、以下AAJ）は、日本赤十字社に30万ドル（3,200万円相当）の支援金の寄付を行いました。この支援金は、新型コロナウイルス感染症への対応に尽力されている日本赤十字社の医療機関および最前線で従事する方々の活動支援にあてられます。
AAJ代表取締役社長オマール アル アムーディは、次のように述べています。「新型コロナウィルス感染拡大防止に向けて最前線で感染者の治療に不眠不休でご尽力されている医療関係の皆様、政府および自治体の皆様に心からの敬意を表します。私達の日本赤十字社への支援が、医療従事者の方々の活動支援につながるとともに、新型コロナウイルス感染症の拡大防止の一助となることを祈念しております。当社は、日本との長期にわたるビジネスパートナーとして、社員およびその家族の安全と健康のために必要なすべての手段を講じます。また、引き続き地域社会と地域の皆様を支援し、操業継続・エネルギーの安定供給に全力をあげて取り組んで参ります」
日本赤十字社 事業局 パートナーシップ推進部長 大野 博敬様より、下記のコメントをいただいております。

本取り組みは、アラムコの新型コロナウィルスのグローバル対応の一例で、アラムコのコミットメントとなる地域社会との関係において基盤となるものです。当社の世界各拠点では、医療機関や災害救援組織への支援として、合わせて350万ドル以上の支援を行っており、アジアの拠点においては、インド、中国では赤十字社へ、また韓国では、Hope Bridge Korea Disaster Relief Associationへそれぞれ寄付をいたしました。米国では、Houston Methodist Hospitalで実施されている「回復期プラズマ（血漿＝けっしょう）治療」（convalescent plasma treatment）の臨床実験に資金を提供いたしました。
Aramco donates JPY32M to the Japanese Red Cross Society
The humanitarian support is part of Aramco’s global response to COVID-19
Tokyo, Japan, June 16, 2020 – Aramco has donated JPY32 million (US$300,000) to the Japanese Red Cross Society to support their humanitarian efforts.
The financial assistance will be used to support Japanese Red Cross hospitals and front-line professionals who are at the forefront of coronavirus prevention and response efforts in local communities etc.
Mr. Omar Al Amudi, representative director of Aramco Asia Japan K.K. (“Aramco Japan”), said: “I would like to pay sincere homage to medical personnel who are working tirelessly to treat patients and to those at various levels of the government who are working around the clock to contain the spread of COVID-19. I hope this donation to the Japanese Red Cross Society will provide valuable support to medical professionals and help their efforts to prevent the virus from spreading further.
“As a long-time business partner of Japan, we are taking all necessary measures to ensure the safety and well-being of our employees and their families, support the local community during these times and maintain the continuity of our business.”
Mr. Hiroyuki Ono, a Japanese Red Cross Society representative, said: “We sincerely thank Aramco for the support. We will do our best to meet your expectations and trust, and hope to have your continued guidance and support as we move forward together.”
Aramco’s donation to the Japanese Red Cross Society is part of the company’s global response to COVID-19. So far Aramco has donated more than US$3.5 million towards efforts to counter the virus around the world. These donations are part of Aramco’s commitment to the communities in which it operates.
Similar donations include those made to the Indian Red Cross Society, the Red Cross Society of China and the Hope Bridge Korea Disaster Relief Association, among others. They also include a donation to the Houston Methodist Hospital in the US, which will fund an experimental plasma treatment for COVID-19 patients.
